What CompressorBank HD v7 Is For
CompressorBank HD v7 is a dynamic compression plug-in intended for mixing and sound design. It allows controlling level variations, stabilizing a vocal take, giving cohesion to a bass, enhancing the presence of a snare drum, or "gluing" a guitar bus. Thanks to its transient-oriented settings and multiple time constants, it adapts equally well to subtle treatments and more creative compressions, on modern productions as well as more organic projects.
Main Features
A flexible compressor, from fine control to coloration
Designed with an approach similar to that of a full studio tool, CompressorBank HD v7 emphasizes mastering compression behavior. The Knee setting allows adjusting the transition into gain reduction, useful for moving from soft and gradual compression to a more pronounced action. The Bite control (Bi-directional Intelligent Transient Enhancement) provides a dedicated transient response, ideal for preserving the attack of a rhythmic instrument or, conversely, smoothing an overly aggressive source.
Multiple Time-Constant (TC) settings to suit each source
The choice between several Time-Constant (TC) circuit types facilitates adjusting the compressor's responsiveness. Depending on the material (vocals, drums, bus, acoustic instruments, synths), you can seek faster and more incisive compression or slower and more "glue" style, in order to maintain the groove and breathing of the track.
Side chain and monitoring for a reliable workflow
The side chain input opens the door to ducking (for example, bass or pads triggered by the kick drum) and more targeted compressions. The monitoring modes (listening to the side chain and/or input) allow verifying what is actually driving the compression, speeding up adjustments and limiting errors, especially on dense mixes.
Precise meters for quick and accurate settings
The meters provide Input, Compression Gain (gain reduction), and Output measurements. This clear readout helps compare before/after, set a consistent output gain, and work cleanly on an individual track or a bus.

Questions frequently asked
Is CompressorBank HD v7 compatible with macOS Sonoma?
The announced compatibility covers macOS 10.13 High Sierra through macOS 14 Sonoma. The versions Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey, and Ventura are also included.
Is it compatible with Windows 10?
On Windows, the indicated compatibility for this plug-in is Windows 10.
How to use the side chain for ducking?
The side chain input allows compression to be triggered by an external signal, such as a kick drum on a bass or pads. The monitoring modes provide access to listening to the side chain and/or the input. The signal triggering the gain reduction can thus be controlled during adjustment.
What are the Bite and Knee controls for?
The Knee and Bite controls affect the compression behavior. The Knee adjusts the smoothness of the gain reduction, while the Bite targets the transient response.
Which meters are available on CompressorBank HD?
Three measurements are offered: Input, Compression Gain, and Output. They allow visualization of the input level, gain reduction, and output level.
