What MMicSim Is For
MMicSim is a microphone simulation plugin designed for modern recording. It converts the signal from your current microphone to the character of a target model, optimizing vocals, reorienting instrument takes, or performing virtual "re-miking" after the fact. Ideal for both correction and creation, it allows quick exploration of condenser, dynamic, and ribbon microphone colors without changing hardware.
Main Features
Precision Anechoic Analysis
Each microphone profile is measured in an anechoic chamber using a proprietary multi-dynamic sweep. This method perfectly isolates frequency response and dynamics for a lively simulation that preserves the attack, body, and air of the original model.
Express Workflow
Select your source microphone in "Your Mic," choose the target model in "Desired Mic," and instantly compare the result. The clear interface promotes fast decision-making during sessions, from sound design to vocal recording under time constraints.
Advanced Sound Controls
The Smoothness parameter smooths spectral peaks and resonances from the room or capsule (a setting around 20% works in most cases). The Dry/Wet control modulates the intensity of the character applied by the core algorithm, ranging from a subtle veil to a marked imprint without loss of coherence.
Extensive Microphone Palette
With over 100 models, from modern "workhorses" to vintage icons like the Telefunken ELA M251 or Neumann M49b, MMicSim offers a solid foundation to reimagine drum, guitar, or brass recordings and quickly find the color that serves the mix.

Questions frequently asked
Is MMicSim compatible with macOS and Windows?
Compatibility includes macOS 10.14 Mojave or later, as well as Windows 10 and Windows 11 64-bit. Intel, AMD, or Apple Silicon processors are supported.
Which plug-in formats are available?
VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats are offered, exclusively in 64-bit architecture.
How to select the source microphone and the simulated microphone?
The interface allows selecting the microphone used under "Your Mic", then the desired model under "Desired Mic". The rendering comparison is performed immediately between the chosen profiles.
Can resonances be softened with MMicSim?
The Smoothness parameter smooths spectral peaks as well as room or capsule resonances. A setting around 20% is recommended for most uses. The Dry/Wet control then adjusts the simulation intensity.
Which microphones are simulated by Melda MMicSim?
More than 100 microphone models are included, among them the Telefunken ELA M251 and Neumann M49b. Condenser, dynamic, and ribbon profiles allow altering the character of vocal, guitar, drum, or brass recordings.
