A "Vintage" Chorus in the Spirit of Great References
The Mooer Ensemble King follows the tradition of analog choruses that defined clean sounds of the 70s and 80s, with its wide and organic modulation that instantly adds depth to chords and a sense of movement to arpeggios. Its sonic DNA clearly evokes the "chorus ensemble" school: a silky, full, and very musical sound designed to enhance dynamics rather than mask them.
Within the Mooer range, the Ensemble King is part of the micro formats: a "plug and play" approach that gets straight to the point while retaining a true analog personality. It's an excellent option if you're looking for a compact analog chorus pedal with a warm tone, capable of remaining subtle or becoming distinctly expressive.
Who It's For and Which Styles the Mooer Ensemble King Excels In
This pedal is suitable for both beginner guitarists (thanks to its intuitive controls) and experienced musicians seeking a simple, reliable analog chorus that's easy to dial in on stage. It works perfectly with clean and light crunch tones but can also add a very pleasant width before moderate overdrive.
In terms of styles, the Ensemble King is comfortable in pop, rock, new wave, funk, jazz, fusion, indie, and anything that calls for a broader clean sound. In the studio, it helps place a guitar in the mix without raising volume; live, it provides a stereo and depth sensation even with a mono chain. It is also suitable for bass, particularly to thicken fingerstyle tones or add subtle movement when playing with a pick.

This pedal is a GREAT CHORUS.
Arrived from the package, the first pleasant surprise, the pedal is well protected with a small foam that protects the buttons, not only put in bulk in the box like other pedals. The pedal is really very small, much more than I expected, the paint is beautiful, a beautiful blue lagoon and without a hitch. The small LED seems solid, so does the Rate button but the Level and Depth buttons are to be handled with more care. the construction inspires confidence, seems solid and neat. Standard 9v plug, power supply not included, no surprise. The only small functional downside is that the switch to activate the effect is a bit stiff and produces a noisy “clack” but luckily not in the amp. Besides, speaking of amps, how does this little blue box sound? Well, that sounds good, very good indeed. The sound is very warm, very full and airy, it literally comes to life when you activate the effect. it is velvety, very soft, magnificent. The effect is VERY versatile, you can go from something subtle to something very... Psychedelic. the settings are intuitive and respond very well, you immediately find the sound you are looking for. I recommend finding a setting for the level and depth and then refining with the Rate to save the two buttons mentioned above. In clean sound it's a killer, really. In saturation I am a bit more mixed. Let's say that the rendering is still good even in saturation the sound is beautiful, but we have to deal with an audible loss of gain coupled with a treble boost as soon as we activate the effect on the saturated channel. Don't worry, it's not obvious but we can hear it, especially for a solo: a small boost would be welcome and solve the problem. For the rest the pedal is very quiet as long as you put it in the effects loop, otherwise it snores a little bit but I am sure that a noise gate would solve it. To conclude I would say that it is an EXCELLENT CHORUS, which certainly has some small flaws but has a real and particularly pleasant sound signature, and in terms of quality/price/sound this pedal is probably the best you can find on the market. I recommend, to buy with your eyes closed.Automatically translated

Finishing the pedal at the top, it is simple, analog, and allows very fine modulations as long as you set it correctly. For me, a chorus reference.
