The Iconic EVH Chorus, Reissued for Modern Rigs
Designed based on the chorus Eddie Van Halen used to widen his clean guitars and add depth to arpeggios, the EVH 5150 Chorus retains the "early 80s" aesthetic while adding current flexibility options. It continues the line of EVH effects developed with MXR/Dunlop, delivering that typical spaciousness and definition without sacrificing ease of use.
Who Is It For and Which Styles?
Ideal for intermediate to professional guitarists, this chorus excels in hard rock, 80s rock, pop, new wave, funk, and metal ballads. On stage, it provides a wide and stable image; in the studio, it enriches both clean layers and crunch leads. Paired with a 5150-type overdrive, it thickens saturated rhythms without muddying the mix and integrates easily into any pedalboard.

Questions frequently asked
Can the EVH30 chorus be used in stereo?
With its 3 jack outputs, the pedal allows for mono routing or stereo widening. This setup enables spreading the modulation to two destinations depending on the chosen wiring.
What settings are available on this chorus pedal?
The front panel includes the Volume, Tone, and Intensity knobs. Two mini switches, Input Level and Output Level, adjust level pads for different sources.
What power supply does the MXR Modulation Chorus EVH30 require?
The pedal can be powered by a 9 V battery or a 9 V DC power supply, with a consumption of 95 mA.
What sound does this chorus provide on a clean or crunch guitar tone?
Clean arpeggios gain in width and presence thanks to the analog modulation. On a light crunch, the chorus thickens the signal without masking the attack. The highs remain sharp while the lows stay clean.
Is the bypass configurable?
An internal switch selects either true bypass or buffered bypass. This choice allows adapting the pedal's behavior to the length of the effects chain.
