The Direct Out allows sending either a pre EQ or post EQ signal to the front of house. A ground lift is included to reduce hum caused by ground loops. The pre EQ mode sends the signal without the pedal's EQ, while the post EQ mode maintains the Bass, Mid, and Treble settings.
What EQ does this bass preamp pedal offer?
The 3-band EQ includes Bass, Mid, and Treble controls, with a Mid Freq adjustment to select the midrange frequency area processed. This semi-parametric section allows boosting presence or reducing intrusive low-mids.
Is the M81 suitable for active or passive basses?
The Input control adjusts the input gain to match the levels of either passive or active basses.
What power supply is needed for the MXR M81 Bass Preamp?
A 9 V DC power supply with a negative center is required, with a stated consumption of 8.5 mA. The pedal can also run on a 9 V battery. No power adapter is included.
