A Routing Tool Designed for Modern Setups (Stereo, Dual-Mono, TRS)

With the rise of stereo pedalboards, loopers, and multi-effects units, a very common issue arises: some devices output dual-mono (two TS jacks), others expect a stereo TRS input, and the reverse is just as frequent. The Split | Meld fits perfectly into this workshop logic: a simple, robust tool designed to make different connection formats communicate without adding complexity or multiplying adapters.

Old Blood Noise Endeavors offers here a "pedalboard-friendly" solution: rather than relying on a specific TRS splitter cable (not always the right length, not always on hand), you centralize the format conversion in one place, directly on your board.

Who It's For, Which Setups, and In What Contexts?

The Split | Meld is aimed at guitarists, bassists, and musicians using machines (synths, drum machines, samplers) who want to utilize a stereo chain without struggling with connectivity. It also works very well for hybrid setups: part of the pedalboard in stereo, another in mono, or a mono amp on stage with a stereo output to the console in the studio.

Live, it's an ally for making wiring more reliable and reducing setup errors (left/right, send/return, dual-mono). In the studio, it facilitates reamping and quick connections when switching from one pedal to another, or from a device to an audio interface. On a pedalboard, it helps maintain clean and clear routing, especially when combining stereo delays, reverbs, and modulations.

Features and Philosophy: Simple, Bidirectional, No Power Needed

The concept is straightforward: the Split | Meld serves to split a stereo TRS into two mono TS lines, or to combine two mono TS into one stereo TRS, depending on the direction you use it. This makes it particularly practical with devices that offer a stereo TRS input but dual-mono outputs, or vice versa.

Another common use: some pedals use a TRS-format effects loop (a single jack for send and return). Thanks to the Split | Meld, you can access this send/return without needing a dedicated insert cable, which can simplify pedalboard organization and cable length management.

Finally, its passive electronics mean it operates without power: no consumption, no power adapter constraints, and easy integration into any setup. Since it's not an active circuit, the goal is clean routing without adding gain or processing.

Sound

This is not about adding a "color" like an overdrive or delay: the Split | Meld is a routing tool designed to remain transparent. It neither compresses, boosts, nor filters, but preserves the signal and stereo/mono separation as your chain produces it. The result: your stereo image remains that of your effects (reverb, modulation, delay), and your dynamics depend primarily on the pedals and devices upstream/downstream, not on the Split | Meld.
