Ortega Rtpfe-1 Tourplayer Deluxe Maple

Ortega TourPlayer: The German Approach to a Classical Guitar Focused on Innovation

Founded in 1994, Ortega develops guitars that combine traditional manufacturing methods with a design rigor inspired by German engineering. The RTPFE-1 embodies this spirit, with choices oriented towards comfort and functionality, while preserving the fundamentals of a modern nylon-string guitar, ready to support both learning and amplified performance.

Who Is It For, and In Which Styles?

Thanks to its 48 mm nut width, the RTPFE-1 is especially suitable for guitarists seeking a "classic" feel that is slightly narrower than some standards, making it practical for transitioning between chords, arpeggios, and fingerstyle playing. With its built-in preamp and tuner, it targets beginner to intermediate musicians who want a reliable everyday guitar, as well as players oriented towards stage use (variety, acoustic pop, nylon fingerstyle, vocal accompaniment).

Sound Characteristics

The okoumé body generally provides a balanced response, with clear mids ideal for the precision of nylon string attacks. The flamed maple top emphasizes definition and articulation, helping maintain clarity in chords and picking passages. When amplified, the Ortega Magus X EQ facilitates adaptation to the venue and mix, while the built-in tuner ensures accurate tuning at all times without additional accessories.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To preserve the original feel and balance, you can opt for an identical replacement set: Ortega NYP44H strings. The guitar comes with a padded Tour Player gig bag, convenient for daily transport and protection.
