A 12-string in the Ovation spirit: designed for amplified playing
With its distinctive design (Lyrachord back and multiple soundholes on the bass side), this Elite TX follows the tradition of guitars engineered to offer excellent stability and reliable sound reproduction when plugged in. The GS format combined with the Deep Contour profile prioritizes comfort, while the Multi Soundhole concept contributes to sound dispersion and response accuracy, especially when alternating fingerstyle playing and energetic strumming.
For which guitarists and styles?
This 12-string electro-acoustic guitar is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a broad and bright rhythmic sound or a "wide" texture in picking. It is particularly suitable for folk, pop, acoustic rock genres and vocal accompaniment. The maple neck with a flat profile helps maintain precision despite the presence of 12 strings, and the cutaway facilitates higher positions for arpeggios and voicings.
Sound characteristics
The solid Sitka spruce top provides clarity, a sharp attack, and a great dynamic reserve: the more you play, the more it responds. The profiled X bracing supports projection and note sustain, a key point on a 12-string where both brightness and clarity are sought. The Lyrachord GS Deep Contour body promotes precise and even response, with a well-controlled low end and a focused feel useful in amplified contexts. Finally, the 12-string effect adds that characteristic shimmer, very effective for thickening an arrangement without multiplying tracks.
Recommended compatible accessories
To preserve the original feel and balance, prioritize replacement with ADAMAS NUOVA COATED Phosphor-Bronze 1818NU Light .012-.053 strings (factory installed).
