Celebrity Elite: The Ovation Spirit, From the First Gigs
Designed as an entry point into the Ovation world, the Celebrity series embraces the brand's fundamentals: a composite Roundback body (Lyrachord) and a true "live" approach. The Elite version is recognized by its Multi Soundholes, which free up more of the central soundboard area and bring part of the sound closer to the guitarist's ear, especially appreciated in both amplified and acoustic playing.
Who It's For, and Which Styles
This electro-acoustic is aimed at serious beginners to intermediate guitarists who want a reliable instrument for rehearsing, recording, and performing on stage without hassle. Its balanced response and complete preamp make it an excellent partner for pop, acoustic rock, variety, light fingerpicking, and pick accompaniment, delivering a clean and controlled sound in amplification.
Sound Characteristics
The solid spruce top provides a clear attack and good dynamic range, ideal for transitioning from soft playing to strong chords. The Quintad bracing promotes efficient vibration of the top, enhancing clarity and note sustain. The Lyrachord Deep Contour (roundback) body offers even projection and well-controlled bass while limiting unwanted resonances when amplified. On stage, the Ovation CP-100 Slimline pickup captures a precise signal, while the OP-4CT preamp allows quick tonal balance adjustments with its 3-band EQ, and the integrated tuner helps stay in tune between songs.
