  • Premium vintage look: Nitro Sherwood Green finish with Relic for an authentic appearance and a "lively" feel.

  • Comfort and stability: quarter sawn roasted maple neck, Modern C profile, double action truss rod.

  • Modern playability: 22 jumbo frets in stainless steel with rounded edges, 13.75" / 349 mm radius.

  • Clarity and dynamics: SS configuration (single coils), custom handwound Alnico V pickups rated at 7k, simple and effective electronics (1 volume, 1 tone).

PT-6: A Modern Interpretation of a Classic

The PT-6 SGR R focuses on the essentials: familiar ergonomics, performance-oriented luthiery, and a carefully aged aesthetic. Here, the "vintage" spirit is mainly found in the nitrocellulose finish and the Relic, while the technical choices (stainless steel frets, locking tuners, flatter radius) aim for a responsive, precise guitar ready for both stage and studio.

Who Is It For, and Which Styles?

This electric guitar is well suited for intermediate and advanced players seeking a reliable instrument with fast playability and excellent tuning stability. The SS configuration highlights defined and expressive tones: ideal for rock, blues, pop, funk, and anything requiring attack, snap, and good response to playing dynamics. With its fixed bridge, it is also suitable for tight rhythms and chords that need to stay perfectly in place.

Sound Character: Single Coils, Alnico V, and "Lively" Nitro

The combination of a paulownia body and Alnico V single coil pickups promotes a fast, articulate, and harmonically rich sound. Paulownia is appreciated for its immediate response and airy quality, which helps achieve clear open tones and well-defined crunch. The custom handwound pickups rated at 7k offer versatility: enough output to drive an amp into overdrive while maintaining the definition and dynamics typical of single coils.

On the electronics side, the 1 volume / 1 tone setup encourages a very "instrumentalist" approach: shaping gain and brightness directly at the potentiometer, with natural interaction with the amp and pedals. The nitro finish, thinner and more resonant than a thick lacquer, often contributes to a more responsive feel under the fingers, with a crisp attack and clean sustain, especially with the fixed bridge.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original string gauge and preserve the intended playing balance, you can use a set of D'Addario EXL110 10-46 strings (the same as factory-installed).
