CE 24 Special: the PRS "bolt-on" spirit, in an extended version

The PRS CE 24 Special follows the lineage of bolt-on neck CEs, appreciated for their crisp attack and lively response. This "Special" version takes the concept further by adding a single coil pickup in the middle position, designed to multiply tonal colors without losing the PRS DNA. The "Faded Blue Smokeburst" finish highlights the sculpted flamed maple top and enhances the exclusive feel of this limited edition, equally appealing as a stage instrument or a collector's piece.

For whom and for which musical styles?

This PRS electric guitar is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists who want to cover a wide range of styles with one reliable instrument. The HSH configuration and humbucker splitting allow seamless transitions between rock, pop, funk, fusion, and melodic metal with consistent output levels and dynamics. The Pattern Thin neck and 24 frets favor fast runs, legato, clean bends, and expressive vibrato playing.

The sound

The PRS 85/15 humbuckers deliver a balanced sound, with firm lows, clear mids, and open highs, ideal for maintaining definition with gain as well as for "edge of breakup" tones. The PRS NS-01 single coil provides a sharper attack and single-coil transparency, perfect for chicken picking, arpeggios, and precise rhythm playing. Thanks to the 5-position selector and push/pull split, the guitar shifts from a full, dense register to more crystalline textures while maintaining a nice volume consistency. The mahogany + flamed maple combination brings warmth, sustain, and attack, while the bolt-on maple neck enhances responsiveness and "snap." The patented PRS vibrato completes the setup with a smooth feel and good tuning stability for expressive playing.
