After ten years, the PRS S2 series evolves in 2024 with the integration of pickups and electronic components made in the USA. The S2 Custom 24-08 builds on the S2 Custom 24 foundation while adding a very intuitive switching system that makes it particularly comfortable both in the studio and on stage, without losing the typical PRS feel.

Who is it for and what styles?

The PRS S2 Custom 24-08 is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists who want a single guitar capable of covering a wide spectrum. It excels in rock, pop, funk, blues, and fusion: the humbuckers provide power and thickness, while the split option allows for snappier, more defined textures, ideal for rhythm parts or more "single coil" tones.

The sound

The combination of mahogany (body and neck) + carved maple top delivers a very PRS-balanced tone: rich mids, solid lows, and a sharper attack, with a nice reserve of sustain. The TCI pickups offer a modern, precise, and musical response: in humbucker mode, you get dense and articulate sounds for riffs and solos. The two mini-switches allow independent coil splitting of each pickup, providing finer and more dynamic tones, very useful for switching from a bright clean to a gritty crunch, or to better "cut through" in a mix.
