The McCarty DNA in the SE range: accessible PRS character
Designed to embody the aesthetics and feel of the McCarty lineage, the SE McCarty 594 adopts the codes of vintage-inspired instruments while maintaining the reliability expected from a modern production guitar. It is aimed at those who want a robust, coherent, and musical instrument with the unmistakable PRS signature: carved top, "Birds" inlays, and a very "musician's guitar" approach.
For whom and for which styles?
This PRS is ideal for intermediate to expert guitarists, and also suits ambitious beginners looking to invest in a versatile and durable guitar. It excels in blues, rock, pop, soul, funk, and jazz: in humbucker mode for dense rhythms and singing leads, and in split coil mode for more definition, clarity, and attack response.
The sound
The PRS 58/15 LT "S" prioritize a warm, articulate, and dynamic output, with a tone inspired by vintage humbuckers at a moderate output level: perfect for exploiting playing nuances and guitar volume. The two push/pull tone controls provide access to split coil, convenient for brightening a chord or adding snap without making the high end harsh. The combination of mahogany (body and neck) and flamed maple (carved top) balances roundness, attack, and sustain, while the PRS two-piece bridge and 24.594" / 625 mm scale length enhance the smooth feel and harmonic richness. The 3-position selector, combined with 2 volumes and 2 tones, allows precise settings between neck pickup, middle position, and bridge pickup.
Recommended compatible accessories
To stay true to the original setup, a 10-46 electric string set is perfectly suitable. A sturdy strap and a stable guitar stand are also good everyday allies. A gig bag is included for transport.
