A PRS Signature Crafted for Precision, Between Vintage Restraint and Modern Demands
The first PRS signature guitar for Myles Kennedy, this solidbody goes straight to the point: a clean design, a long scale length for a tight and controlled feel, and electronics designed to cover a wide range without multiplying settings. It embodies the PRS DNA focused on comfort and consistency, with ergonomics made to handle rehearsals, concerts, and studio sessions while maintaining the same level of response.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
The PRS Myles Kennedy is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a responsive electric guitar, precise with a pick, and capable of moving from tight rhythm playing to expressive lead by playing dynamics. Its natural playground covers alternative rock, hard rock, modern blues, funk, and country-rock: sharp chords, clean arpeggios that remain clear, and saturations that keep definition.
Sound Characteristics
The Narrowfield MK pickups deliver a very balanced sound: firm lows, present mids, and controlled highs, which helps maintain articulation even with gain. The combination of swamp ash and maple enhances attack and clarity, with immediate projection ideal for percussive rhythms as well as fast phrases. The plate-style steel bridge, combined with brass saddles, contributes to the dynamic response and sustain. The push/pull tone control acts as a preset focused on the treble pickup to soften the upper spectrum and achieve more "docile" crunch tones or silkier cleans, while the 5-position selector multiplies textures, from precise snap to denser registers.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay as close as possible to the original setup, a set of electric guitar strings in 10-46 gauge is a coherent choice. For stage and rehearsal, a standard strap and a good quality 6.35 mm jack cable perfectly complement the instrument. The included premium gig bag effectively protects the guitar during everyday transport.
