A Modernized Offset Vela in the S2 Range
Part of the S2 series made in the USA, the Vela HHT revisits the iconic PRS offset silhouette with a more contemporary approach. This version features a pair of DS-01 humbuckers and a PRS tremolo, replacing the more vintage setup of the original Vela to offer a broader palette and increased responsiveness, while retaining the ergonomics and reliability that PRS is known for.
Who Is This Guitar For and What Styles Suit It?
Ideal for intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a unique instrument, the S2 Vela HHT excels in pop, indie, funk, blues, and alternative rock. The humbucker coil split expands the sonic palette, allowing transitions from crystalline rhythms to thick, singing leads-perfect for both studio and stage.
Sound
The PRS DS-01 humbuckers with exposed pole pieces deliver a bright attack, precise mids, and firm lows. In full humbucker mode, you get generous sustain and balanced distortion; in split mode, the tone becomes airier and snappier, ideal for sparkling arpeggios and funky rhythms. The mahogany body/neck combination enhances warmth and natural compression, while the PRS tremolo maintains intonation and enables subtle vibratos without compromising tuning.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
Prefer a set of electric strings gauge 10-46 (factory setup) to maintain the tension/tone balance intended by PRS. A standard strap fits directly on the factory strap buttons. The included Gig Bag is provided for daily transport.
