What PSP ClassicQ Is For
PSP ClassicQ is an equalizer plug-in designed to correct and shape individual tracks with a console-style musicality, while maintaining the precision needed for modern mixes. It is particularly suited for processing vocals, guitars, drums, synths, and basses when you want to both clean up (remove problematic frequencies) and add character (density, presence, brightness) without ending up with a clinical sound.
Main Features
A "console" sound with activatable color
At the heart of PSP ClassicQ is the spirit of vintage equalizers known for their very musical bass and treble filters. To go beyond simple corrective EQ, you can activate a Class A circuit simulation as well as an output transformer simulation, ideal for adding a touch of grain and density during mixing, or to make a source sound more "finished" within an arrangement context.
Modern controls for fast and accurate work
PSP ClassicQ combines this character with practical controls for today's mixing: adjustable high-pass to control the low end, switchable Q on the bass and treble shelf filters to choose between gentle or more pronounced correction, and a sweepable bell mid filter to precisely target a resonance, enhance presence, or tame harshness.
ClassicQex included: more precision in the low-mids
In addition to the ClassicQ version, the package includes PSP ClassicQex. This extended version features all ClassicQ functions plus a Low Mid section, particularly useful for working the crucial body and warmth area. It's a real advantage for refining a snare drum, adding body to a vocal, controlling guitar muddiness, or placing a bass in the mix without losing impact.
