What PSP E27 EQ Is For
PSP E27 EQ is an equalization plug-in designed to provide precise tonal control while maintaining a harmonic grain inspired by analog circuits. It can be used both to correct (clean up an overpowering low end, tame harshness in the highs, reposition a midrange) and to enhance a track with a "little extra" texture, much like a 500 series style EQ channel strip.
In a mix, it excels at adding presence to vocals, solidifying bass, opening up guitars, or adding attack to a snare drum. In mastering, its "musical" approach allows for spectral balance tweaks without a surgical feel, while adding slight saturation that can contribute to overall cohesion.
Main Features
3-band Equalization with Musical Behavior
The PSP E27 offers a multi-stage architecture with three EQ bands and nine selectable frequencies. The goal is a fast and reliable workflow: select the area to work on, adjust the gain, and achieve a pleasing curve, particularly suited to "real" sources (vocals, drums, guitars, bass, piano) as well as buses and the master.
Bell or Shelf Modes with One Click
The low and high filters can switch between bell or shelf modes with one click. This flexibility helps instantly move from corrective work (targeting a specific area) to enhancement (supporting the low end, adding air) without multiplying instances or complicating the effects chain.
Soft Saturation and Nonlinearities
Beyond equalization, PSP E27 EQ reproduces analog behavior with subtle saturation and nonlinearity emulation. The result: boosts remain more "natural," transients can gain body, and some tracks find their place more easily in the mix. This is an ideal approach when you want an EQ that shapes both timbre and frequency balance.
Additional Preamp Stage and Global Control
The plug-in includes an additional preamp stage, useful for global level control and managing gain cleanly during generous adjustments. This facilitates A/B comparisons and helps maintain an objective perception of tonal changes without being misled by simple volume differences.
PSP E27se Included: Same Engine, Simplified Interface
The bundle also includes PSP E27se, a version designed to get straight to the point. It is based on the same audio engine but with a more direct interface, convenient for quick adjustments during mixing. PSP E27se features an E27 module and a PA11 module, preserving the chain's spirit while speeding up decision-making.

Questions frequently asked
Is the PSP Audioware E27 Eq compatible with macOS and Pro Tools?
The announced compatibility covers OS X and macOS, from version 10.10 up to macOS 12.01 Monterey. The VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats allow its use in compatible DAWs, including those supporting AAX. No Windows system is specified in the provided specifications.
How many bands and frequencies does this equalizer offer?
The architecture includes three equalization bands and nine selectable frequencies, with a gain range of up to ±16 dB.
Can the lows and highs operate in shelf mode?
The low and high bands switch between bell and shelf modes with one click. This makes it possible to target a frequency area or support the spectrum edges. This selection is done without adding a new plugin instance.
Does the PSP E27 add saturation?
Subtle saturation and non-linearity emulation are integrated into the processing. Boost settings can thus add harmonic grit and more body to transients.
What is the difference between the E27 and E27se?
The included E27se version is based on the same audio engine with a simplified interface. It combines an E27 module and a PA11 module to speed up mixing adjustments.
