What PSP N2O Is For

PSP N2O is a multi-effects plug-in designed for sound design, electronic production, creative mixing, and all situations where you want to transform a source rather than simply process it. Thanks to its semi-modular approach, it allows you to build atypical (or very classic) effect chains in record time, then animate them with advanced modulations. The result: moving textures, spectral transitions, rhythmic effects, evolving atmospheres, as well as utility processing like equalization, compression, or limiting, all within a single environment.

Main Features

Based on the well-regarded concept of PSP Nitro, PSP N2O goes further with new modules and extended modulation possibilities. Its engine has been rewritten and redesigned to improve sound quality and leverage optimizations offered by modern processors, while maintaining accessible handling for everyday studio use.

Semi-modular effect chains (up to 4 operators)

PSP N2O can load up to four processing operators simultaneously, which you can freely route according to the desired color. You can thus move from simple spatialization processing to more experimental architectures: moving filtering, controlled distortion, cascading pitch and delays, or hybrid combinations to sculpt a unique timbre.

Advanced modulation (up to 4 modulators)

To bring your presets to life, PSP N2O offers up to four modulators in parallel. The goal: intelligently automate parameters, create synchronized pulses, dynamic variations dependent on the signal, or precise movement sequences. The interface facilitates setup with dedicated displays, simplified modulation configuration, and quick editing via keyboard and mouse wheel.

Immediate control and session performance

The 8 assignable knobs (with MIDI Learn option) provide direct control over essential parameters, ideal for real-time playing, automation recording, and adapting a preset to your track without interrupting the flow. The display includes animated response curves to visualize the impact of processing and better dose the sonic intent.

Safer mixing: limiter and sidechain

To maintain controlled levels even on extreme processing, a built-in limiter uses algorithms derived from the PSP Xenon hi-definition mastering limiter. The plug-in also features a sidechain input (key), useful for triggering processing based on another track (creative pumping, driven filtering, rhythmic and reactive effects, etc.).
