With the widespread use of amp modelers on pedalboards, the boundary between the instrument world and sound reinforcement has blurred: you no longer necessarily output to an amp on stage, but directly to a mixing console or audio interface. The Highline Stereo is aimed at guitarists and bassists using an amp modeler (or any line-level output device) who want to feed a PA or recording system without compromise. It is especially relevant if your modeler outputs unbalanced via 6.35mm Jack, if you play on stages with long cable runs, or if you have encountered the classic issue of ground loop hum as soon as you connect your pedalboard to the console. Both in studio and live, it helps you achieve a stable, silent, and immediately usable signal without having to "jury-rig" solutions on a case-by-case basis.

Jensen 1:1 transformers: galvanic isolation and signal integrity

At the heart of the Highline Stereo are high-quality Jensen 1:1 transformers. This design aims to maintain maximum volume level between the pedalboard and the PA, while providing galvanic isolation that effectively cuts noise caused by ground loops. The desired result is a clean signal, free of hum and artifacts, that respects the character of your modeling and effects (dynamics, stereo imaging, attacks, sustain).

Balanced XLR outputs: a reliable connection to the console

The Highline Stereo's balanced XLR outputs are designed for live realities: they allow the use of long cables to the FOH without degrading the signal. Where an unbalanced 6.35mm Jack output can become susceptible to interference and quality loss over long distances, the balanced output provides a more robust transmission, especially appreciated on stages crowded with lighting, power supplies, and multicore cables.

Phantom power blocking: your pedalboard stays protected

On many consoles, phantom power can be activated (intentionally or by mistake) on mic inputs. The Highline Stereo includes a protection mechanism that blocks phantom power so it never reaches your pedalboard. This is an important safety feature to protect your upstream devices and avoid unpleasant surprises during quick switches between soundcheck and performance.

SUM switches: stereo/mono without reconfiguring your chain

The Highline Stereo can be easily reconfigured for multiple scenarios thanks to its two summing switches. The Thru Sum switch merges the two Thru outputs: you can thus listen to both sides of your stereo signal through a single amplifier while continuing to send the left and right channels separately to the PA system. Meanwhile, the XLR Sum switch merges the two XLR outputs to deliver a mono signal to the console when available channels are limited. This approach allows you to adapt your outputs from one gig to another without having to change your modeler settings or rethink your pedalboard routing.
