An Evolution of the EVOX Philosophy: the "J9" Spirit with an Onboard Mixer

The RCF EVOX JMIX9 continues the EVOX column system lineage, known for quick setup and coherent sound coverage in a room. The concept remains the same: a portable PA that deploys quickly and cleanly, projecting efficiently without multiplying speaker stands. The major difference here is that the JMIX9 integrates a true digital mixing section (24-bit/48 kHz conversion, 32-bit processing), allowing centralized sound management directly within the system. Practically, this means greater compactness, reduced cabling, and a very "field-friendly" approach: fast installation, simplified balancing, and a neat setup even when stage space is limited.

Who Is the RCF EVOX JMIX9 For?

The JMIX9 is designed for singer-songwriters, keyboardists, DJs, hosts and presenters, as well as for service providers and multi-purpose venues (bars, hotels, meeting rooms, small stages) seeking a reliable and immediate solution. The column format enhances intelligibility and audience coverage, while the integrated mixer eliminates dependence on an external console for common configurations (vocals, instruments, stereo sources, background music). It's also an excellent choice when working with a small crew: you can adjust levels and processing from the stage or audience area, maintaining mix control without constant back-and-forth to the sound desk.

Mixing, Processing, and Playback: A System Designed to Perform, Simply

8-channel digital mixer: a complete live configuration right at the base of the column

The heart of the JMIX9 is its stereo 8-channel mixer, sized for real live needs. You have 4 MIC/LINE combo inputs with digital gain and +48V phantom power for condenser microphones, plus 2 stereo line inputs: one stereo TRS on 6.35mm Jack and one stereo 3.5 mm. Additionally, Bluetooth audio allows easy management of music breaks, playback, or background sound. The interface, designed for performance, combines a touchscreen and encoders for quick access to essential settings without getting lost in complex menus.

Per-channel processing: clean and controlled mix even without a sound engineer

To secure your sound and achieve a balanced output, each channel features a 3-band EQ and a high-pass filter, very useful for cleaning vocals, reducing handling noise, or avoiding muddiness in the low-mid range. On mic inputs (channels 1 to 4), the "1-knob" compressor simplifies dynamic control: practical for stabilizing lead vocals, announcements, or mic'd instruments without endless technical adjustments. The system also includes a ducker, especially relevant for hosting contexts: the music automatically lowers when a voice speaks, improving intelligibility and delivering a more "pro" sound immediately.

Stereo reverb and output equalization: the "ready-for-stage" finishing touch

The built-in stereo reverb adds depth to vocals and softens an overly dry sound without external effects. To adapt to the room, both Main and AUX outputs feature an 8-band EQ: a valuable tool to correct resonant rooms, reduce harshness in the highs, or enhance presence depending on your style (pop, variety, acoustic, DJ set). An assignable headphone output facilitates signal monitoring, level preparation, or source checking before playback.

Remote control: more freedom during soundcheck and performance

With the JMixRemote app, you gain decisive comfort: adjust a level from the audience area, tweak vocal EQ in real conditions, or refine a mix when you're alone on stage. In event settings, this approach saves time and avoids compromises: you place the system, listen in the room, correct by ear, and validate a clean sound without multiplying equipment.

Column projection + 12" woofer: intelligibility, breadth, and impact

The sound is delivered by a 6 x 3" column paired with a 12" woofer, combining midrange precision (vocals, guitars, keyboards) and solid bass foundation (kick, bass, music). The 120 x 40 directivity aims for wide and homogeneous coverage, ideal for sound reinforcement without "holes" on the sides. For safety, the DSP includes a soft limiter and thermal/RMS protections to preserve power handling and reliability, even during long or high-level performances.
