Historical Context and Positioning Within the Range
The Clear Powerstroke 4 follows the line of classic Weatherking heads, known for their reliability and even response. Within the Powerstroke range, it stands as a more robust and controlled alternative to the Powerstroke 3, with a deliberate focus on the midrange and a darker character.
Who This Drum/Instrument Is For
This head is aimed at intermediate to advanced drummers seeking a clear attack, fewer unwanted harmonics, and a more stable feel under the stick. It suits rock, metal, pop, studio environments, and any situation where an immediately usable, easy-to-tune sound is desired.
Features and Innovations
Built on a 2-ply base, the Clear Powerstroke 4 prioritizes durability and consistency, while incorporating the typical Powerstroke dampening principle to tighten the spectrum and stabilize tuning. The result: more control, more body, and better-defined mids.
Sound Characteristics
Its double ply enhances the low-mids and naturally shortens sustain: the sound gains in punch, density, and "darkness," with a rounder attack than a single-ply head. Being clear, it maintains good definition while offering a more controlled and easier-to-mix output.

Its double ply is suited for heavy playing and offers greater durability than a single ply head. Recommended uses include rock, metal, pop styles, and studio recording.
What is the difference in performance compared to a Powerstroke 3?
Within the Powerstroke range, this version 4 offers more durability and control than a Powerstroke 3. Mids are more focused and tuning is more stable. The sound also has a darker tone.
