The Dirtdog is designed as a "small amp at your feet." Gain sets the amount of saturation; Level shapes both the amp-like push and overall volume for "amp-on-10" feel when cranked. Bite adjusts brightness and attack in the highs; Tone shifts the midrange voicing from biting and punchy (right) to more "chewy" and slightly scooped (left). The four controls interact strongly, allowing you to dial in grain, compression, and articulation.
