Roland JX-3P (Enhanced ACB) is a virtual synthesizer designed to recreate the iconic textures of the 1980s while fitting perfectly into a modern production environment. It is especially suited for creating expansive analog pads, punchy leads, round basses, precise plucks, and chorus-laden layers typical of synth-pop, electro, pop, house, synthwave, ambient, and soundtrack arrangements. Thanks to its tempo-synced arpeggiator and built-in effects, it integrates easily into a DAW project for composing, sound designing, and finalizing mix-ready tones.

Main Features

A faithful and musical architecture

At the heart of the engine is an 8-voice polyphonic subtractive synthesis with 2 DCOs, a high-pass filter, and a resonant low-pass filter with modulation to sculpt brightness, warmth, and presence. The modulation path includes LFO and 2 envelopes, enabling quick transitions from stable, clean sounds to more lively, expressive, and organic movements.

From new to vintage with one setting

The synth's character is adjustable from "clean and new" to "warm and worn". This approach is ideal for selecting the right level of imperfection and patina depending on the context: precision for modern, highly detailed productions, or warmth and irregularities to capture the feel of a vintage instrument with history.

Immediate control with the virtual PG-200 programmer

The integrated virtual PG-200 provides direct access to parameters, in the spirit of the hardware programmer. The result: less time searching menus and more time shaping sound. The scalable high-resolution user interface improves parameter readability, whether on a studio screen or in a mobile setup.

Effects, arpeggiator, and adjustable polyphony

To complement the tone, you have the JX-3P chorus and additional effects: reverb, flanger, delay, and overdrive. The tempo-synced arpeggiator facilitates creating rhythmic patterns and ostinatos perfectly locked to the project. Finally, polyphony is adjustable from two to eight voices, useful for optimizing resource consumption or achieving behaviors closer to certain hardware limitations.

Patches, navigation, and hardware integration

The software includes all original patches as well as new sounds, with an intuitive browser to quickly find the right preset according to style and musical intent. It supports plug-out for standalone use with the optional (not included) Roland System-8 and can be controlled via Roland System-8 or JX-03 as hardware controllers, providing a more instrumental playing experience.
