Keyboard design

The 88-key Hybrid Grand keyboard is built around a hybrid wood-and-plastic structure designed to achieve a successful balance between authentic touch, mechanical stability and long-term durability. Escapement enhances the sense of control during piano playing, particularly with subtle dynamics and rapid repetitions, while the ivory and ebony feel surface improves grip under the fingers. The 100-level Key Touch sensitivity setting, complemented by 10 hammer response types, lets you adapt the keyboard’s behavior to every pianist, from the lightest touch to the firmest response.

Sound quality

PureAcoustic Piano technology uses modeling to reproduce the living behavior of an acoustic piano rather than simply playing back static samples. The LX708 provides access to two grand piano characters, European and American, and a total of 324 sounds including electric pianos, organs, strings and other textures suited to modern playing. Polyphony is unlimited for piano sounds and reaches 256 voices for other categories. The Acoustic Projection system uses eight speakers distributed across several zones to create a rich, enveloping and convincing sound field, both for the pianist and the audience.

Built-in effects

The Roland LX708 takes a refined, musical approach to sound processing. It includes brilliance control, PureAcoustic Ambience with several acoustic spaces such as studio, lounge, concert hall, wood-panelled room, stone room and cathedral, as well as My Stage mode with 12 ready-to-play configurations. The Piano Designer module takes customization even further with settings for lid position, mechanical noises, resonances, soundboard, note-by-note tuning, volume and the character of each key.
