Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
The Roland TM-2 follows the line of Roland triggering solutions aimed at acoustic drummers who want to integrate electronics without switching to a full electronic drum kit. Positioned as a compact, simple, and stage-ready module, it serves as a bridge between traditional acoustic playing and the modern palette of electronic percussion, with a "plug and play" logic and integration designed for drum hardware.
Who This Module Is For
The TM-2 targets beginner to intermediate drummers who want to enrich their setup without complicating their rig. It suits both rock, metal contexts (reinforcement of bass drum/snare, denser hits) and pop, funk, electro genres (claps, synthetic sounds, loops, and effects). Ideal for rehearsals as well as live performances, especially when you want to increase impact in a sound system while maintaining the feel and dynamics of an acoustic drum kit.
