Roland WM: Wireless MIDI Freedom Without Compromising Playability
The WM-1D is part of the Roland WM range, designed to modernize setups by replacing wired MIDI connections with fast and stable wireless communication. It complements the WM adapters by providing a dedicated solution for computers and becomes the central piece whenever you want to control WM-compatible instruments from a PC or speed up exchanges on Mac and iOS.
Who It's For and Why: Studio, Stage, and Cleaner Mobile Setups
This dongle is aimed at musicians and producers who want to keep a tidy workstation, avoid long cable runs, and regain natural playability on keyboards, pads, or controllers. It is especially useful when your controller is far from the computer or if you work with an iPhone or iPad in a mobile creative environment.
Standard and Fast Modes: Adapt Responsiveness to Your Use
Standard: Flexible and Convenient
The Standard mode suits most setups and can support up to four devices in total (depending on device types and environment). On Mac and iOS, communications can also be carried out via MIDI Bluetooth in Standard mode.
Fast: When Timing Is Critical
For timing-sensitive situations (rhythmic playing, tight sync, automation), the Fast mode targets a transmission latency of 3 ms, with a maximum of two devices. On iOS, a USB connection requires a compatible Apple adapter.
- The WM-1 wireless MIDI adapter enables wireless MIDI communication between instruments and devices with 5-pin MIDI ports
