The Sadowsky DNA: A Bass Designed for Today's Playing
This Sadowsky bass embodies the brand's spirit: offering a modern, precise, and comfortable instrument inspired by classic electric bass standards. Asian manufacturing allows access to this Sadowsky approach while maintaining coherent technical choices (dedicated hardware, full electronics, stage and studio-oriented ergonomics).
Who Is It For, and Which Styles?
Thanks to its P/J configuration and modern neck profile, this bass suits both intermediate bassists seeking immediate versatility and advanced musicians wanting an efficient, easy-to-set-up instrument. It excels in pop, rock, funk, soul, RnB, and gospel, with a clear response suitable for fingerstyle, pick playing, and sharp slap attacks.
The Sound
The okoumé body provides a balanced response and good responsiveness, with present lows without heaviness. The bolt-on roasted maple neck promotes a crisp attack and appreciated stability, while the morado fingerboard adds definition in the upper mids, ideal for note clarity.
The pair of passive Sadowsky pickups (P-Style at the neck, J-Style at the bridge) covers a wide spectrum: the neck pickup delivers solid, punchy lows, while the bridge pickup refines the tone and tightens the lows for a more articulated sound. The Volume / Balance / Treble / Bass controls enable quick adjustments: you can switch from a round, deep tone to a more cutting presence in seconds without losing playing dynamics.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the original feel and balance, a set of 4-string stainless steel bass strings, gauge 045-105 (long scale / 34" scale length) is the safest choice. A second identical set is ideal as a backup for stage or studio.
