The low B remains clear and tight for modern lines, while the Vintage Tone Control softens brightness and returns to more subtle tones without losing definition.

Sound

The combination of swamp ash and roasted maple delivers a fast response, firm lows, very clear mids, defined highs, and generous sustain. The MM pickup in the bridge position provides attack, growl, and punchy slap, while the J pickup at the neck adds roundness and warmth to support the mix. Both pickups are hum-cancelling, keeping noise levels minimal even under challenging stage lighting. The Sadowsky 2-band preamp sculpts bass and treble instantly, and the VTC acts as a progressive filter; in push/pull mode, it switches to passive for a more organic approach.
