A 5-String Built for Stage and Studio

This Sadowsky MetroLine is aimed at intermediate to professional bassists seeking a reliable, precise, and comfortable 5-string, equally at ease in recording and live settings. The MM/J configuration is particularly suited to styles where the bass must remain clear and present: pop, rock, funk, gospel, fusion, urban music. With its 34" / 864 mm scale length, the B string gains in tension and definition, delivering solid lows that sit well in the mix.

The Sound

Swamp ash provides firm lows, open mids, and airy highs, while the amourette adds density, articulation, and a sense of immediate response under the fingers. The torrefied maple neck and fingerboard duo promotes a quick attack, clear mids, and appreciable stability, especially on a 5-string. On pickups, the J-Style hum-cancelling neck pickup offers a warm, woody register, while the MM hum-cancelling bridge pickup delivers a punchier, percussive sound highly effective for slap. The 2-band preamp (bass and treble boost) allows instant shaping of presence and depth, and the Vintage Tone Control refines the upper spectrum to shift from modern brightness to a more mellow grain. In push/pull, the passive mode provides a more organic tone without losing the signature Sadowsky clarity.
