A Signature Designed for Modern Progressive Metal
This Schecter is the USA signature model of Aaron Marshall, guitarist of the Canadian progressive metal band Intervals. It fits a "modern pro" approach: fast playability, solid intonation, and electronics designed to cover multiple ranges without sacrificing definition. The choice of a long scale and a thin neck clearly meets the current demands of prog (rhythmic precision, articulation, dynamics, extended chords).
Who Is It For, and What Styles?
This 6-string electric guitar is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking fast ergonomics and clear note-by-note articulation. It excels in progressive metal, djent, modern fusion, technical rock, as well as more atmospheric textures (arpeggios, delays, open chords) thanks to its very immediate response. Its format and 24 frets also suit fluid leads and fast passages across the entire neck.
The Sound
The alder body provides a very versatile balance: present mids, controlled lows, and clear highs, helping maintain clarity in the mix even with high gain. The bolt-on neck enhances attack and the "percussive" aspect of playing, while the quartersawn roasted maple (neck and fingerboard) promotes a lively, precise, and consistent response. The 26.5" scale contributes to firmer string tension, ideal for tight riffs and lower tunings with better stability. On the electronics side, the Schecter USA Solstice / Equinox humbuckers deliver power, definition, and sustain, and the 5-position selector switch allows exploration of multiple combinations to quickly switch from dense tones to more nuanced colors depending on the playing context.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the original feel and balance, favor a set of Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 2221 strings with gauge .010-.046 (same as factory setup).
