The Apocalypse Series: A Radical Approach to Performance
With the Apocalypse series, Schecter clearly targets demanding guitarists seeking an instrument designed for precision, speed, and reliability on stage. This C-1 features the brand's iconic "C" shape, enhanced with performance-oriented choices: stainless steel frets, modern pickup configuration, and hardware built to withstand heavy tunings and advanced techniques.
Who is it for, and what styles?
This electric guitar is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert players: fans of modern metal, extreme metal, djent, heavy rock, and any playing requiring precision (tight palm-muting, fast alternate picking, tapping, harmonics). The Floyd Rose and Sustainiac make it an excellent platform for guitarists who enjoy shaping their notes (vibratos, dives, controlled sustain) and building textures.
Sound
The ash body delivers a sharp attack and good definition, ideal for maintaining clarity with distortion. The multi-laminate maple and bubinga neck, combined with an ebony fingerboard, enhances precision and fast response, highly appreciated in tight rhythms as well as solos.
On the electronics side, the Schecter USA Apocalypse-VI humbuckers provide a powerful and articulate range, while the Sustainiac (with on/off switch and Fundamental / Mix / Harmonic modes) allows for near-infinite sustain or controlled harmonics, perfect for leads, atmospheres, and "violin" effects. Powered by a 9V battery, the system is stage-ready, provided the battery is in good condition.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay close to the original setup, you can use a set of Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 2221 (.010-.046) strings. A 9V battery is required for the Sustainiac system. For transport, the SGR-1C gig bag is recommended (sold separately).
