An Hybrid Designed as the Missing Link in the Schecter Range
The Hellraiser Hybrid series acts as a bridge between two pillars of Schecter: it combines the premium aesthetics of the Hellraiser with its carved flamed maple top on a mahogany body, while adopting a faster and more modern approach on the neck side. The result: an electric guitar with a spectacular look, built to handle high gain without sacrificing comfort, and offering a smooth playing feel across the entire neck.
For Whom and Which Styles
This Schecter is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a stage and studio machine oriented towards saturated music. It excels in modern metal, metalcore, hard rock, djent, but remains relevant whenever a tight, defined, and powerful sound is needed. The Floyd Rose and active electronics require some familiarity (setup, string changes), but reward with great control over playing and intonation.
Sound Characteristics
The mahogany (body) + flamed maple (top) duo provides a dense sonic foundation, with present lows and rich mids, while retaining attack to highlight palm mutes and fast riffs. The active pickups deliver a high output level, very direct response, and low noise floor, ideal for heavy distortion and lower tunings. The Sustainiac at the neck adds a unique dimension for infinite sustains, controlled harmonics, and atmospheric leads, while the EMG 57 at the bridge offers a precise, punchy, and articulate tone, perfect for tight rhythms.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
This guitar comes stock with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 2221 strings in gauge .010-.046, an excellent standard to maintain Floyd Rose balance and the 25.5" / 648 mm scale tension. A gig bag or case is available optionally: SGR-1C (sold separately).
