A C-1 Updated for Today's Demands: The SLS Elite Spirit
Continuing the C-1 shapes that built Schecter's reputation among rock and metal guitarists, the SLS Elite series takes the concept further: gradient finishes that highlight the flamed maple carved top, ultra-thin "C" neck comfort, and electronics designed for high gain as well as more nuanced tones. The result: a high-end electric guitar focused on precision, stability, and versatility for both stage and studio situations.
Who Is It For, and What Styles?
This 6-string is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking fast playability (shred, tight riffs, stable tunings) and a wide range of tones. It excels in modern metal, prog, djent, hard rock, and fusion, while remaining comfortable when alternating between saturated rhythms, singing leads, and cleaner passages thanks to the pickups' voicings and coil split.
The Sound
The combination of an ash body and a flamed maple top delivers a sharp attack, good definition, and a precise high end, ideal for articulate distortion. The neck-through construction (maple/walnut/padauk) reinforced with carbon rods promotes generous sustain and even response across the neck, while the ebony fingerboard adds clarity and a fast feel.
On the electronics side, the Fishman Fluence Modern pickups offer two distinct characters: a modern active voicing for punch and controlled compression, and a more passive voicing for a more open dynamic. You also have a high-frequency filter to recover more bass, a 6 dB gain reduction, and a coil split allowing you to select the coil used: everything you need to switch from a tight wall of sound to more airy textures without changing guitars.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the original feel and tension, opt for Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 2221 (10-46). If you want to protect the instrument during transport, the SGR-1C gig bag is available as an option (sold separately).
