An "Extreme" Omen: the Schecter spirit with a premium touch
The Omen series holds a central place in the Schecter catalog: it is the mid-range designed to offer a true serious instrument feel without breaking the budget. The Omen Extreme version stands out with its flamed maple top, visually aligned with higher-end models like the Hellraiser, while maintaining the Omen philosophy: efficiency, comfort, and versatility.
For which guitarist and styles?
The Schecter Omen Extreme is aimed at ambitious beginners as well as intermediate players seeking a stable and inspiring electric guitar. Thanks to its 24 frets, long scale length, and simple passive electronics, it is perfectly suited for rock, hard rock, and metal, including lower tunings and heavy distortion.
Sound
The combination of a mahogany body and a maple top provides a very effective balance: mahogany favors a dense low-midrange and generous sustain, while maple adds attack and precision to maintain definition when saturated. The two Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers deliver a rather warm and balanced sound, with a bridge pickup capable of handling high gain without collapsing. The 3-position selector and 2 volume + 1 tone controls allow switching from massive rhythm tones to more singing leads, all within a simple and straightforward setup.
Recommended compatible accessories
This guitar comes factory-equipped with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 2221 (10-46) strings: sticking with this gauge is a safe bet to maintain the feel and overall balance. A Schecter SGR-1C case is available sold separately and is the brand's recommended option.
