The Omen Series: Schecter's Mid-Range with Outstanding Value for Money
Positioned as mid-range in Schecter's lineup, the Omen series targets guitarists who want a true stage and rehearsal guitar, with a careful finish and modern playability, without moving into higher budgets. It embodies the Schecter spirit: effective ergonomics, clean fretting, and immediate feel from the first minutes of playing.
Who Is It For, and What Styles?
This Schecter Omen left-handed guitar is especially suited for serious beginners as well as intermediate players looking for a versatile electric guitar, easy to set up and pleasant under the fingers. Thanks to its humbuckers and 24 frets, it excels in rock, hard rock, metal, but can also handle cleaner, rhythmic sounds for pop and accompaniment, via the 3-position selector and the volume/tone duo.
The Sound
The combination of a mahogany body and a flamed maple top provides a balanced sonic foundation: present lows and rich mids, with a sharper attack and a more "cutting" edge thanks to the maple. The bolt-on maple neck enhances definition and responsiveness, while the rosewood fingerboard slightly softens the overall tone for a musical output. The passive Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers offer good output and sustain in saturation while remaining usable clean. Finally, the fixed Tune-O-Matic with string-through-body design promotes attack, stability, and generous sustain, perfect for heavy riffs as well as leads.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay close to the original setup, a set of electric strings with gauge .010-.046 is perfectly suitable. For transport, the Schecter SGR-UNIVERSAL GUITAR case is listed as compatible (sold separately). A standard guitar strap will also be appropriate for standing play during rehearsals or on stage.
