A "Black Ops" model designed for performance in the PT series
The PT Black Ops embodies the "mission instrument" spirit: a guitar with a streamlined design, built to withstand real playing conditions, both in the studio and on stage. Its approach emphasizes modern playability (stainless steel frets, easy access to upper frets) and electronics geared towards contemporary sounds, without sacrificing the warm and rich tonal foundation of mahogany.
Who is the Schecter PT Black Ops for?
This electric guitar clearly targets the intermediate to advanced guitarist seeking a responsive, stable instrument comfortable with modern techniques (tight rhythms, palm mutes, fast leads, controlled bends). It is especially suited for modern rock, metal, hard rock, and prog genres, while remaining relevant for more nuanced styles when utilizing its clean tones and dynamic range.
Sound
The mahogany body provides a robust sonic foundation, with present mids, a sense of density, and naturally generous sustain. The Fishman Fluence Open Core Modern-6 pickups reinforce this identity with precise reproduction and a wide gain range: attacks remain clear, chords retain definition, and saturated tones gain impact without becoming muddy. The tuning stability offered by the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut and locking tuners helps maintain consistent response, essential for studio recording and live sets.
