The Custom Series: Schecter's Take on Neo-Vintage
With the Custom series, Schecter highlights proven luthiery recipes, revisited with a modern spirit: meticulous finishes, quality components, and an immediately recognizable sonic identity. The Solo II Custom fits this approach with a "traditional +" mindset: wood, sustain, and electronics designed to be expressive without unnecessary complexity.
Who is it for, and what styles?
The Schecter Solo II Custom is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a versatile electric guitar capable of performing in rehearsals, studios, and on stage. Its character makes it comfortable in rock, blues-rock, hard rock, and modern styles requiring a full sound, while retaining beautiful pick nuances thanks to responsive luthiery and effective passive electronics.
The Sound
The mahogany body + flamed maple top combination provides a very musical balance: mahogany offers a warm foundation, present mids, and natural sustain, while maple adds definition and attack to keep chords clear. The USA Pasadena (neck) and USA Pasadena Plus (bridge) humbuckers cover a wide palette: round and singing tones at the neck; more bite at the bridge for riffs and leads. The 3-position selector and push-pull tone control allow quick tonal adjustments, from thick grain to a more open register depending on your needs.
