Sela Percussion Majesty Handpan D Amara 20 (13+7) - Stainless Steel

Historical context and positioning within the range

This model belongs to the Sela Harmony family. Its D Amara 9+3 configuration focuses on an extended range: it offers more melodic possibilities than a layout limited to the main notes alone. Handcrafted construction and professional tuning are central to the design of this acoustic instrument, with each playing area contributing to its musical balance.

Who this handpan is for

The Sela Harmony D Amara 9+3 can accompany both a motivated beginner and an experienced percussionist. Its predefined set of notes makes it possible to explore improvisation without having to build every chord note by note. To make full use of the lower notes and vary your sequences, however, gradually developing your hand placement remains helpful.

It is well suited to ambient, acoustic and meditative music, as well as compositions combining percussion and melody. Played on its own, it allows you to alternate between repeating patterns and freer phrases. In a duo or small ensemble, its standard tuning at 440 Hz makes it easy to combine with other instruments tuned to the same reference, provided compatible keys are chosen.
