Who is this handpan for?
The Sela nomo Stainless Steel D Kurd 9 is designed for musicians who want to discover the handpan, as well as percussionists looking to add a melodic color to their playing. Its nine notes provide a defined musical framework: rather than finding your bearings on a full keyboard, you explore the relationships between the sound fields with your fingers and hands.
The D Kurd scale is particularly well suited to contemplative atmospheres, acoustic compositions and improvisations inspired by world music. It also fits naturally into ambient settings or pared-back accompaniment. For beginners, this framework makes those first explorations easier; experienced players can work on nuances, accents and hand independence.
