EW-DX: Sennheiser's UHF Digital Evolution Designed for Today's Productions

With the Evolution Wireless Digital (EW-DX) series, Sennheiser emphasizes a modern and scalable approach to wireless microphones: network integration, rapid multi-channel deployment, and remote control tools to maintain system oversight even in complex setups. The handheld transmitter EW-DX SKM is part of this ecosystem and is intended for installations and performances requiring reliable, repeatable operation that is easy to maintain.

For Stage, Conference, and Events: A Handheld Transmitter Built for the Field

This portable transmitter is a natural choice for lead vocals, microphone interventions in conferences, houses of worship, corporate events, and productions where consistent results are expected from one speaker to another. Its handheld form factor, programmable mute switch, and testing functions facilitate soundchecks, stage changes, and management of multiple speakers, while remaining coherent with a control room that centralizes wireless system supervision.

Key Features: Control, Battery Life, and RF Stability at the Core of the Design

Simplified Gain with a Wide Dynamic Range

The input dynamic range of 134 dB aims to reduce gain adjustments on the transmitter side, an advantage when multiple users alternate and levels vary significantly. The signal benefits from the proprietary audio codec SePAC (Sennheiser Performance Audio Codec) and conversion designed to preserve transparency from the capsule to the system output.

Radio Reliability and Channel Density

The RF technology Intelligent Switching Diversity enables antenna switching between audio frames to maintain stable transmission. Within the EW-DX ecosystem, the Link Density mode is designed to optimize the number of channels within a given frequency space (according to series restrictions and local regulations).

Designed for Operation: E-Ink, Dock Charging, and Testing Tools

The persistent E-Ink display keeps information readable even when batteries are removed. The charging contacts allow in-device charging via a compatible charger (accessory sold separately), and the transmitter includes practical functions such as digital audio trim, test tone generator, switchable low-cut filter, and button lock to secure usage in live conditions.
