A "big as Texas" sound born from a very specific request
Everything is bigger in Texas, and it's hard to imagine a bigger sound than that of Texan Billy Gibbons and his 1959 Les Paul "Pearly Gates." Since Billy wanted to capture that P.A.F. humbucker character on other guitars, a call to Maricela "MJ" Suarez from the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop gave birth to the Red Devil series.
For Tele players who want fatness at the bridge without losing single-coil identity
Installed in the bridge position on a Tele, this Red Devil has a clear goal: to regain the spice, density, and slight harmonic grit of a big vintage pickup while maintaining the precision and dynamics of a single coil. Ideal if you play with a pick and a strong attack, if you seek snappy yet thick rhythms, or a blues rock lead that "speaks" immediately.
Design and specifics: power, warmth, and wiring versatility
The bridge pickup is wound to deliver the power and character of a Billy-style P.A.F., with Alnico 5 magnets for a fast and well-articulated response. The 4-conductor wiring opens the door to more advanced setups depending on your electronics (selectors, splits, or combinations), and the wax potting improves stability and limits microphonic issues at high volume.
