A Modern Interpretation of the Classic "Jazz"
The V3P-4 LH TS RN embodies the spirit of Jazz-type basses, a standard appreciated in studios and on stage for its versatility. Its "New Marcus Miller Jazz Type" left-handed format retains essential features (balance, playability, quick response) while adding a distinctive visual identity with its Tobacco Sunburst finish and 3-ply tortoise pickguard.
For Whom and Which Styles?
Thanks to its passive configuration and immediate playability, this bass is well suited for serious beginners as well as intermediate bassists seeking a reliable and expressive instrument. It excels particularly in funk, jazz, pop, rock, and modern groove: the neck pickup provides warmth, the bridge pickup emphasizes definition and bite, and blending both opens a wide spectrum of tones.
The Sound
The mahogany body provides a warm sonic foundation, with full lows and generous low mids, ideal for anchoring the mix. The maple neck, combined with the rosewood fingerboard, balances everything with a clear attack and comfortable playing feel. The Marcus Super Jazz Revolution pickups deliver a Jazz-typical character: articulation, dynamics, and clarity, with the ability to go from a soft and round sound (neck pickup, tone rolled off) to a sharper, more detailed register (bridge pickup, tone open). The through-body bridge promotes good sustain and consistent string-to-string response.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
If the scale length is as indicated by the manufacturer, this bass accepts 4-string long scale 34" / 864 mm bass strings. A strap and a good quality instrument jack cable are also relevant choices for stage and rehearsal use.
