The flagship of the Z series: a Z-Bass crafted for versatility
Positioned as one of the most refined models in the range, the Sire Z7-5 LH carries the "Z-Bass" DNA with carefully designed ergonomics and signature electronics. Inherited from Marcus Miller's approach, it combines solid luthiery with a full active circuit to cover both vintage registers and modern tones, with an ideal dynamic reserve for both band playing and recording.
For which bassists and styles?
This bass is aimed at left-handed bassists of intermediate to advanced level seeking a 5-string capable of quickly adapting to different contexts. Funk, R&B, soul, pop, rock, gospel: the J + MM pickup set and active EQ allow switching from a warm and mellow sound to sharp and percussive attacks, while maintaining the necessary definition in dense mixes.
The sound
The J pickup at the neck emphasizes definition and warmth, perfect for articulated lines and "vintage" sounds. The MM-type humbucker at the bridge delivers punch, midrange presence, and low-end foundation, with low noise level. Thanks to the Blend control, you can precisely balance the mix of both pickups to find your ideal blend of roundness, attack, and bite.
The Marcus Heritage-3 preamp offers solid lows, open highs, and especially an adjustable mid frequency to either stand out in the mix or carve the spectrum with precision. The combination of alder body (balance and homogeneity), maple neck and fingerboard (attack and clarity), and stainless steel frets enhances playing clarity. The 34" / 864 mm scale length ensures reliable and clear tension on the B string.
Recommended compatible accessories
For a reliable setup on a 5-string long scale, prioritize a 5-string bass string set 34" / 864 mm. For transport, a gig bag or case for 34" long scale electric bass is recommended, provided you check internal dimensions (some 5-strings may be wider at the bridge area).
