SSL Native Strips is a suite of plugins designed to build complete processing chains without stacking a multitude of effects. Whether you are a musician, beatmaker, producer, or mixing engineer, the goal is simple: work faster while maintaining musical control over balance, dynamics, and presence. Guitarstrip optimizes guitar and bass takes (D.I. and amp), Drumstrip streamlines drum and drum bus processing, and Vocalstrip 2 provides the essentials for a clean, stable, and intelligible vocal.

Main Features

Guitarstrip: from D.I. to finished sound, hassle-free

SSL Guitarstrip combines four complementary modules to quickly transform a guitar or bass, from simple "polish" on an already solid take to a full chain on a dry signal. The phase correction module helps align multiple sources (e.g., an amp mic and a D.I. track) to restore low end, precision, and a more coherent image. The 3-band EQ focuses on key instrument areas, with a Pre/Post positioning to adapt processing order and an automatic listening function for finer sculpting.

Dynamics are handled by a 5-mode compressor: you choose the response that fits your intent (sharper attack, softer control, etc.), with level aids to maintain consistent gain even with heavy settings. Finally, the Drive section adds character through guitar and bass amp modeling: perfect for adding bite, thickening a too-clean D.I., or taming harsh attacks without losing energy.

Drumstrip: a dedicated drum channel strip, rearrangeable

SSL Native Drumstrip is designed to cover most drum production scenarios in a single plugin by combining five typical tools for drum and bus processing. The workflow highlight is the complete rearrangement of module order: you adapt the chain to your method (e.g., gate before shaping or vice versa) without unnecessary complexity. Input/output metering with RMS information facilitates dynamic decisions, and controls remain intentionally straightforward to stay in the flow.

Sound-wise, there is the Listen Mic Compressor with its signature "crushed" character, enhanced by a Narrow Band mode. The Enhancer modules (low and high frequencies) help solidify the low end and clarify the attack, while the Transient Shaper allows refining impact and sustain. The Gate offers separate open and close thresholds for more precise cleaning, useful on toms, snare, or overly noisy rooms.

Vocalstrip 2: a complete vocal chain with advanced visual feedback

SSL Native Vocalstrip 2 condenses four essential processors for vocals into a clear interface to quickly achieve a clean, "mix-ready" result. The Compander (hybrid expander/compressor) stabilizes dynamics and helps place the vocal in the mix without unwanted pumping. The De-esser and De-ploser, both dynamic-based, target sibilance and plosives respectively to improve intelligibility without dulling the timbre. The 3-band EQ completes the set with a high-pass, airy highs, and a mid band with an asymmetric notch, handy for removing resonance while retaining presence.

To speed up workflow, Vocalstrip 2 includes real-time visualization (frequency graph and FFT overlays) and module order rearrangement to adapt the chain to each voice. The A/B function allows comparing two settings, and numerous presets provide reliable starting points depending on style, take, or intent. The 64-bit floating point audio engine aims for mastering-level processing quality.
