Essential Information About the SSL Fusion Plug-in Bundle Software
- SSL Fusion coloration in digital: a suite of 5 processors inspired by the Fusion hardware to add warmth, depth, and "console" finishing to your mixes and masters.
- From subtle to spectacular: gentle harmonic saturation, bass thickening, controlled brightness, stereo widening, and high-frequency control, without losing musicality.
- Fast and professional workflow: clear interfaces, immediate central controls, wet/dry mix, and Auto Gain (depending on modules) for easy comparison and balancing.
- Perfect on buses, mixes, and mastering: ideal on drum buses, instrument buses, vocals, mix bus, and mastering chain for a coherent finish and "analog feel."

What SSL Fusion Plug-in Bundle Is For
SSL Fusion Plug-in Bundle is designed to finalize a mix and give it a more organic signature, close to analog processing. Whether you work in pop, rock, electro, hip-hop, film music, or high-end podcasting, this collection helps you add density, optimize perceived width, and smooth harsh areas while preserving impact and clarity. Use it as a "sweetening" chain on your mix bus or as individual modules on key groups and tracks.
Main Features
Vintage Drive: harmonic saturation and gentle compression
The Fusion Vintage Drive module emulates the behavior of an analog drive circuit dedicated to musicality: it generates progressive harmonic saturation and subtle compression that thickens the sound without squashing transients. Thanks to a simplified interface, you quickly shape the character via Drive and Density, then fine-tune with input/output level controls, wet/dry mix, and the Auto Gain option to compensate for volume changes during adjustment.
Stereo Image: Mid/Side width and frequency-dependent depth
Fusion Stereo Image is an intermediate processor based on a Mid/Side approach: the center signal (Mid) and the sides (Side) are managed independently to narrow or widen the image with the Width control. It stands out with its Space circuit, a frequency-dependent width inspired by "Stereo Shuffling," very useful for opening the high spectrum without artificially inflating the low end. A random control allows shifting the cutoff frequency of the Space circuit to add weight and presence or, conversely, to sculpt the sense of space in the stereo field.
HF Compressor: tame highs with maximum transparency
Fusion HF Compressor targets harsh and brittle high frequencies with an analog-style approach: band roll-off, gentle compression, and smooth rendering. Its X-over processing helps you precisely select the frequency range affected, then you adjust the Threshold and blend the processed signal with the original to preserve detail. The result is ideal for achieving silkier vocals, taming aggressive distortion on guitars, or making a master more "polished" without losing presence.
Violet EQ: musical shelving equalizer with FAT option
Fusion Violet EQ is a two-band shelving equalizer with minimum phase, designed for quick and musical decisions. Frequencies and curves are selected to naturally balance tone and control: perfect for adding air to a master, clarifying vocals, or solidifying a mix's foundation. Integrated into the SSL Engine architecture, the module adds a FAT function: when the high-pass filter is enabled, FAT introduces a subtle peak at the cutoff point to bring punch to the low spectrum without reintroducing muddiness.
Transformer: thickness, brightness, and musical artifacts
Fusion Transformer emulates the effects of an analog transformer: high-frequency phase shift, additional harmonic distortion, and natural bass roll-off. It can add solidness in the low end, a better grounded presence on vocals/instruments, and a more coherent finish on a mix bus. The Shine (to reduce high-frequency phase shift) and Amount (to increase distortion) parameters allow you to go beyond the original circuit, from subtle "glue" to a more pronounced coloration.

Questions frequently asked
Is the SSL Fusion Full Bundle compatible with Windows 11?
Compatibility is announced with Windows 10 and Windows 11 64-bit, on an Intel Core 2 processor or equivalent running at a minimum of 2.4 GHz.
How to widen a mix without boosting the bass?
The Fusion Stereo Image module uses Mid/Side processing and a Width control to separately manage the center and sides. Its Space circuit acts according to frequency to open up the top end. A random control shifts the cutoff frequency of the Space circuit.
Which SSL plug-in should be used to soften harsh highs?
The Fusion HF Compressor targets high frequencies via an X-over setting and a compression threshold. Mixing the processed signal with the original signal preserves details on vocals, guitars, or the master bus.
Does the bundle include an EQ for the mix bus?
Fusion Violet EQ offers two minimum phase shelving bands to quickly adjust the low and high frequencies. The FAT function adds a subtle peak at the high-pass filter frequency when activated.
What is the purpose of the Transformer module in SSL Fusion?
The Transformer processing emulates the high-frequency phase shift, harmonic distortion, and bass roll-off of an analog transformer. The Shine control reduces phase shift in the high end. Amount increases the amount of distortion.
