What true:balance Is For

true:balance is a metering plug-in that helps achieve a more coherent and more "translatable" mix across different listening systems, focusing on the distribution of energy by frequency. It is aimed at producers, mixers, and home studio users who want to quickly check if their bass is too prominent, if the low-midrange is building up, or if the highs lack definition, while keeping a realistic reference thanks to references based on musical styles.

Additionally, the stereo information display secures the mix: you visualize the width and correlation to anticipate phase issues and control mono compatibility, a crucial point for broadcasting (smartphones, clubs, radios, TV, etc.).

Main Features

Clear and Decision-Oriented Spectral Metering

The core of true:balance is its "hesitation-free reading" approach: the measurements and their visualizations are designed to clearly indicate what is happening in your mix. You have a real-time spectrum analyzer as well as a spectral average, very useful for judging the overall balance beyond instantaneous variations.

Target Indicators and Comparison to References

To speed up workflow, the main readouts are accompanied by target indicators: you immediately see if your track is close to the values of a chosen reference. Since the "correct" spectral distribution strongly depends on style and listening habits, the genre references provide a relevant benchmark for mixing credibly and consistently.

Custom References for Project Consistency

When the goal is uniformity across an EP, album, or series of tracks, true:balance allows loading up to 8 custom reference tracks. You can thus align your frequency balance decisions with your own artistic direction (and not just a style average), while maintaining quick visual control.

Stereo Section: Width, Correlation, Mono

The "channel data" section displays essential information about the stereo image: width and correlation. These indicators help understand if your mix opens up in a controlled way, and if it risks collapsing or losing elements when listened to in mono. This is particularly useful for wide synths, reverbs, stacked choirs, or any M/S processing.
