Sonic Energy SET 4 CHIMES SONIC ENERGY BANBOU

Historical Context and Positioning Within the Range

This set belongs to the Meinl Sonic Energy line, dedicated to relaxation, meditation, and body practice instruments. The Cosmic Bamboo Chimes sit at the crossroads of a musical accessory and a wellness tool: a portable format, easy to play, designed to establish a stable and reassuring atmosphere during a sound bath, yoga session, or centering moment.

Who This Drum/Chime Is For

The 4-chime set targets a very broad audience: beginners looking for an intuitive instrument, yoga and meditation practitioners wishing to mark breaths or transitions, as well as musicians and sound therapists seeking soft textures to enrich an acoustic sound design. Perfect for ambient, relaxation, film music, improvisation, and vocal accompaniment contexts.

Features and Innovations

Each chime is played by holding the cord and gently swinging it: the movement activates an internal pendulum that strikes a group of tuned metal teeth at specific pitches. The major advantage lies in the modulation of the sound color : you can quickly switch pendulums, moving from an acrylic model, which is "harder" and more precise, to a wooden pendulum, which is "softer" and rounder. The assembly is designed to remain simple: insert the end of the pendulum clasp into the lower part of the chime, hook it onto the wooden crossbar, then play by pulling the braided cord.

Sound

The sonic signature of these chimes comes from the balance between attack and resonance. The alloy steel teeth provide a stable vibration, clear projection, and pleasant sustain without harshness. The bamboo used for the structure promotes a more organic and "breathable" sensation, ideal for calm environments where every detail counts.
The choice of pendulum transforms the response: acrylic enhances definition and presence, useful for signaling the start or end of a session or for filling a larger room. The wood softens the attack, mellows the harmonics, and delivers a more intimate sound, perfect for relaxation, gentle practices, and contexts where a less direct sound is desired.
