The Spira Guitars S1000 PRO Black Limba clearly follows a “Pro series” approach: a modern electric guitar focused on tuning stability, playing precision and a distinctive sonic identity. The choice of a set neck combined with dense, responsive tonewoods (wenge, ebony) is designed to provide a direct response under the fingers and natural sustain, while maintaining a premium look thanks to the combination of black limba and wenge. The package is completed by a setup suited to modern amplified playing: two Alnico V humbuckers, simple and effective electronics, and a fixed bridge to maintain a stable attack and well-controlled low end.

Who is it for, and which styles does it suit?

Thanks to its “performance” ergonomics (24 frets, relatively flat key radius, locking tuners), the S1000 PRO is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced players looking for a guitar that is immediately effective for rehearsing, recording or performing on stage. Motivated beginners will also find it a very comfortable instrument, provided they appreciate a modern neck profile and a sonic character geared towards humbuckers.

In terms of styles, its HH configuration and 25.5" / 648 mm scale make it particularly well suited to modern rock, metal, hard rock, progressive and fusion. It can also cover more “classic” styles (rock, powerful pop, overdriven blues) thanks to deliberately straightforward electronics (1 volume, 1 tone), allowing you to get straight to the point and work with your picking hand, the amplifier selector and the volume control.

The sound

The S1000 PRO’s acoustic foundation is built around a black limba body, a tonewood known for its balance between warmth and definition: lively mids, present yet controlled lows, and a top end that remains clear even when increasing the gain. The wenge top adds extra firmness and precision, with a sharper attack and well-defined harmonics, particularly useful for complex chords or palm-muted riffs.

The set neck (walnut/wenge) contributes to vibrational continuity between the neck and body, resulting in a more “connected” response and natural sustain that brings out melodic lines. The ebony key further enhances the feeling of speed: immediate attack, very clean note-to-note articulation, and especially effective performance for fast runs, string skipping and pick-driven rhythms. The 14" / 355.6 mm radius follows the same approach: a modern compromise that facilitates bends and low action while remaining comfortable for chords.

On the amplification side, the two Spira Villain PRO Custom Made humbuckers in Alnico V are designed to balance power and dynamics: enough output to drive a preamp and achieve dense overdrive, while retaining a sufficiently responsive attack to maintain control through your touch. In the bridge position, expect tight rhythm tones, focused mids and good clarity on saturated chords. In the neck position, the sound becomes rounder and fuller, perfect for singing leads and broader textures. The deliberately streamlined electronics (1 volume, 1 tone) prioritize simplicity: fewer controls, more immediacy, with a useful tone control for softening the top end and expanding the tonal palette, particularly with clean or crunch sounds.
