The Sound

The SS configuration (two single-coil pickups) Fender-Designed with Alnico magnets delivers a dynamic and articulate response: defined lows, singing mids, and precise highs. The two separate volumes (neck and bridge pickups) plus tone control allow fine balance adjustments: neck pickup for a round, deep sound; bridge pickup for more attack and presence; and blending both for the typical Jazz Bass grain, very clear in a band setting. The poplar body provides a balanced foundation, while the maple neck and fingerboard enhance clarity, snap, and attack definition.

To stay true to the original spirit and respect the 34" / 863.6 mm scale length, choose a 5-string long scale string set with gauges .045 - .130 (like the factory-installed Fender USA Nickel Plated Steel strings). A standard bass strap is also suitable for rehearsals and live performance.
