A Sixties-Spirit Mustang in the Classic Vibe Universe
Inspired by the 1960s Mustangs, this Classic Vibe incorporates the features that made Fender offsets charming: a compact body, easy playability, and a decidedly retro aesthetic. Within the Squier range, the Classic Vibe series aims for the best of vintage spirit with modern and coherent design choices, such as a refined finish and Alnico pickups designed to capture an authentic character.
For Whom and Which Styles?
With its slim "C"-shaped neck, short scale, and comfortable radius, this Mustang suits both beginners (easy handling, softer string tension) and intermediate guitarists seeking a vintage-looking electric guitar with a lively feel. It feels at home in indie, pop, alternative rock, surf, and garage styles, while remaining comfortable for defined clean tones and dynamic crunches.
Sound
The combination of a poplar body and two Alnico single-coil pickups delivers a responsive sound with beautiful clarity and a sharp attack. The neck pickup provides round and detailed cleans, while the bridge pickup enhances presence and bite for rhythms and riffs. The vintage-style electronics, with on/off switching per pickup and phase switch, open up additional tonal colors: thinner, scooped, or more "clicky" sounds depending on the combinations. The vintage-style vibrato adds a touch of expressiveness, ideal for subtle vibratos as well as more pronounced effects.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay as close as possible to the original setup, favor a 9-42 electric guitar string set in nickel-plated steel (gauges .009-.042). Standard picks work perfectly, depending on the desired attack.

Value for money is really great on this series even if the prices are always increasing with Fender... Better than the Mexican low end but not as faithful as the high end Mexican Vintera. The vintage Squier neck is always the same regardless of the model or year, the shape and the radius and frets it's the same thing...
The mex Vintera will be more faithful to the originals... otherwise this one is great, the electronics at the top, not on the Jaguar from a few years ago, the finish the frets... Everything is very good, it is polished and compliant, almost ready to play, the wood that is supposed to be light on mine weighs a dead donkey...
How trees are not all the same... Blue looks much better in real life than in photos, the fingerboard once oiled is magnificent and has nothing to envy to other woods, rosewood... What's left is the Mustang vibrato... A locking kit would be so much appreciated... In the photos the microphone and potentiometer button covers have been changedAutomatically translated
